Breeding stock session – Thursday 27 January
The evening session dedicated to breeding stock grossed €1,140,500 turnover (almost identical to 2010) for an average price of €17,800 (up 14%) and a median price of €11,000 (up 12%).
As showed by these figures, demand was strong and Scandinavian buyers were particularly active, headed by Lufti KOLGJINI who purchased both highest-priced lots of the day: NOUVELLE AVENTURE (in foal to COKTAIL JET) for €170,000 and NOA NOA for €80,000.
Another indicator of the market’s depth is that 16 lots changed hands for €25,000 or more.
As far as stallion shares are concerned, PASSWORD (a share bought for €40,000 by Céline MOLINA), QUAKER JET (€35,000 by Horse 2000 Courtage) and GANYMEDE (€33,000 by SCEA WINNER) were in strongest demand.
On Friday, the 3rd session of the Prix d’Amerique sale will feature horses in training, starting at 7:00 pm.
SEVERINO wins the Criterium Continental (g.1)
SEVERINO has been bought at Ecurie des Charmes Sales when he was a yearling, for a very cheap price (€ 3.000). He is actually the best of his generation winning 2 groupe 1 in his careeer.
Now, if his trainer Christian BIGEON decide to run, he is qualified for the Prix D'Amerique-Marionnaud on 30th of January.
Many horses going from TROTTING PROMOTION'sales could run in the big race, OYONNAX, PRIVATE LOVE, SEVERINO and perhaps RENORA expected in the Prix Tenor de Baune on 16th of January.
Mares PRIVATE LOVE & RENORA very impressives
Top-price from JP Dubois' sales in 2006 (€ 450,000), PRIVATE LOVE won the Prix de Paris (g.1) easily in february. After a long break, the GOETMALS WOOD' s mare is yet in good form winning the Prix du Bourbonnais (g.2) with matthieu ABRIVARD. She will have a chance in the Prix d'Amerique-Marionnaud.
Other top-price but coming from the 2010 Prix d'Amerique-Marionnaud Sales (€135,000) RENORA makes his owner very happy winning the group.3 Prix Narquois.
