The sale, organised by TROTTING PROMOTION, once again took place in ideal conditions, the sun shining, despite the weekend’s rain. Thanks to the efforts made by the racecourse’s technical team the professionals were able to present their horses on a perfect track.

   The sale’s Top Lot ; the semi-classic NOMADE

The indisputable highlight of the afternoon’s mixed session was the entry into the ring of the Ecurie de MONDESIR’s broodmare, placed at group 2 level (mounted), NOMADE (by the proven SANCHO PANCA, half sister to LUCRECE) which caused competitive bidding between the animator of NORMANDIE TROT, Michel Gasselin and the trainer Igor Pierre BLANCHON (on behalf of the Ecurie de la Grenerie) who eventually had the last word at 100.000€. The other valuable lot, MALICIEUX GEDE went to M. DENEUVILLE for 70.000€ and will return to the yard of Franck LENOIR.
Marie-Annick DREUX SASSIER should be satisfied for making the trip to Cabourg; her two other inscriptions, (two 3 yr-olds qualified « inédits ») found buyers at strong prices, especially given the general lack of interest in the proven 3 yr-old market. The same could be said for their unproven compatriots.
However, the broodmares sold well, such as NOTTAWAY DE NATH (by VIKING’S WAY) who was knocked down for 21.000€ to M. DROUOT or NECTARINE (sold in foal to ORLANDO VICI) bought by NORMANDIE TROT for 22.000€. The Ecurie Manuel GARCIA, supporting their stallion KIWI, bought a share for 20.000€.

The final sales figure for this first half of the sale was suitably close to that of last year at 539.000€.

   The evening’s top lot, a filly by KERIDO DU DONJON

Much awaited, the selected 2 yr-old sale recognised an undeniable estimated success, with some of those presented arousing much interest since they are already qualified or had shown considerable promise when presented on the track that morning.
The top lot, QUINELLA another from the l’Ecurie Jean de MONDESIR, by the champion KERIDO DU DONJON related to the classic JIRELLA, caused a stir amongst the buyers, the last word being had at 85.000€ by the active Michel GASSELIN (NORMANDIE TROT) acting on behalf of the Ecurie Passion. It was notable that the fillies sold better, with QUITTA DES ORMEAUX going for 68.000€ to Olivier PHILIPPE, QUNE BRISE for 63.000€ to the same buyer and QUELETTE for 62.000€ to Philippe LEVY who works alongside Jacques PROVOST.

The colts interested Igor BLANCHON and the Ecurie de la Grenerie since the acquired QUIZ DE GINAI, by BUVETIER D’AUNOU impressive that morning and sold for 56.000€, as well as QUIN DU BEAUVOISIN, a promising colt by HAND DU VIVIER for 46.000€. Another that sold well were the sons of LOOK DE STAR, who made 42.000€ (Jorgen WESTHOLM) and 28.000€ (Remy LADREYT) for the colts QUIZ DU LYS and QUIDAM DU CHATELET. The total sales figure for this evening session was more than satisfactory, rising to 700.000€ lower than that of the preceding year, though with an increased average of 30.435€, the deception being in the clearance rate, inferior at 50%, due to an imbalance between the expectancy of the vendors and the demand in the market.

The final figure stands at 1 239 900€, 10% lower to that of last year, 46% clearance, with the positive figure being in the average which rose for the overall sale to nearly 18 000€.
